Relaxing weekend

I didnt have anything planned this weekend. It was lovely to just get up and decide on some lovely walks which i never have time to do.

Saturday we went on a walk on the Canal, we are really lucky to live on a fab part of the Canal! We usually have a lovely relaxing walk on the Canal for around a mile and then join a path which takes us in a circle through a nature reserve where the dogs can just go mad and have a swim in the clean, still river. Bailey thinks this is awsome, (i swear shes half Duck) I just cant get her out and i end up literally leaving her until she thinks she better catch us up. Diva has never been more than paddling deep but decided she would try follow Bails and got totally out of her depth...paniced and thought the best thing to do was leap through the water instead of swim....so funny to watch!

Today we went on a long walk with the dogs, the longest walk Diva has been on yet. It was about 5mile walking through the farm land, down to the huge park and back up a fantastic new path to bank top! Shibden park is a busy park, and lots of people stopped to say hello to Diva and she had lots of pets from kids which she does find terrifying. We then sat out at a the new cafe and had an ice-cream. Diva decided it was far too boring sitting about and entertained herself by fussing everyone passing her, terrorising a poor Westie that was ignoring her, Divas response was to just leap and bark at it! Cafe then got the dogs some nice fresh water in a bowl, which D quickly tipped over and found slidding it over the wood flooring was a great game....kept everyone eating entertained anyway.

Had a bit of trouble with her running up to anyone playing football and stealing the Ball! To my embarrasment she targeted a huge group of lads from where i had to retrieve her!! gggrrr! God she cant half shift!

So two tired dogs tonight!! A nice rest this week, im not taking her to ringclasses tomorrow because i feel we have so much to work on at home. And agility is off on tuesday, Bailey is also looking super fit and slim, shes also back on her working and sporting food to try get her brain in gear!!!

Flyball comp looming soon and my new tailgate should be on its way at the end of the month! woop!

Drax and Diva

We headed over to Drax this weekend and had a really good show! I didnt go for camping this time as i have been away 5 weekends in a row so it was nice to spend some time at home.

We had a really nice team racing. Bailey was on fab form and run her best time of 5.18 which isnt bad for a dog that used to run 5.6's haha! She was off her head and running infront of Buffy the Bearded collie, now Bailey has a thing for beardies and she thinks that poor Buffy needed a Body slam now and again. I think it knocked her a bit cause the last run she went lame. Luckily Kath was on hand to sort out her sore back there and then.

It ended up being a late night as i stayed for some food and got home around 10.40pm!

Diva had a fab time at drax this weekend, like usual she walked around like she owned the place. She met fly who was a little phased by her at first (but who blames her) but after a while they were playing for ages and Diva defiantly approves of her :)

Yesterday me and my boyfriend visited Cannon Hall, its a lovely house set in huge grounds. Bailey stayed at home because she has to rest for a few days. Diva was really funny on her own, she was a little lost at first but soon found other dogs to terrorise! Her recall from other dogs is a lot better and i only had problems with her when she decided a terrier that wanted to kill her was the best toy ever and you should just run circles around it...literally!

We had lots of attention and a few people ask about her as they were looking for a dog blah blah and liked the look of her. She just isnt sure on children and thinks they need telling!

Oh dear i seem to have totally forgotten about blogging oopps!

So here is a very quick update:

Bailey
We have got back into the swing of things in a few areas and its nice to have the warmer weather. It gets my bum into gear and i like to not have 500 layers of clothing on.

First show at Hare and Hounds was a disaster! I was really off that weekend for a number of reasons and i ended up coming home on the second day.

We had much better luck though at Lincoln this weekend. Although we had our usual go slow courses she did show us more of the Bailey at training on some of the courses which is always great and i love running her like this even if it ment she just couldnt control herself around tunnels!! We came home with a 2nd in grade 5 Agility (beaten by an Obey) and 2nd in Grade 5 jumping...yes jumping !

Still uping the fitness fest and she look a lot better the last week or so! :)

Diva
Diva was 18 weeks last thursday and seems to have really shot up in the last few weeks although as i was told is still small for her breed! She is a lovely girl and everything i really could have wanted! She's very bold, confident and has lots of energy but at the same time demanding. Its definatly fun and games with her and there is always something in her mouth she shouldnt have or doing something devious! Today she pinched and ran off with my dads sandwitch while he was turning the TV over hahaha!

She is doing really well with the limited trainin we have done, she knows Sit, Down, Paw, Right, Left (ongoing) Stays (ongoing) and Stand. Iv not really done very much foundation training with her as she tends to learn better in small doses with less repitition. So we do the foundation for a trick one day and the next we go back to it, she picks it up straight away! 3 seems to be our magic number for reps.

We have done some other bits, she will do the elephant trick turning right around the tin, and she retrieves a 'dead' ball for a tuggy. She loves her tuggy and i had to invest in a tuggy lead at Lincoln so she could drag me around the show. Her favourite game is sending on to a target on the floor, she gets very excited and does it at 100mph!

Her ring class work is improving and tonight was our 3rd session and the 'judge' commented on how well she looked and had improved! She also moves soo well :D eeek!

I shall get an updated video together with the work we have done so far sometime this week.

Devious

Diva has been with us 3 weeks on saturday and it already seems like she has been with us forever.

Life must have been easier and quieter lets put it that way. She is so confident and is into everything. If there is a noise that she hasnt heard before she has to investigate it and everything must be tryed by your mouth! She doesnt take no as an answer. She is very bold and is not affraid to be told off by Bailey. They are already playing very rough and Diva isnt letting Bailey get off lightly, she can already hold her own!

I cant wait to get her out and about properly, i just love how sassy she is and i think the other puppys at puppy classes will wonder whats hit them!! We dont really do "training sessions" she just cant manage to sit still for longer than 2 mintues. So far she knows Sit, Down, Paw and just started the elephant trick today, but apart from that its play, play, play!!

Not really updated for a while.

Me and Bails havent really done much over the past few months. Never really do any agility over the winter as im not a huge fan of indoor comps and i hate having to stand around in the cold, or sit in car for hours (good enough excuse to me!) We have done a Flyball comp which Bails was drafted in at the last minute. She did well to say she was so unfit from being restricted when having her staples.

Been working on getting her fit again over the last few weeks, but not been able to do agility as much as we wanted because of the bad weather.

Then to our new addition :)

We were planning on getting a pup sometime this year and i really wanted a summer puppy. The breeder i loved had a fantastic litter available so we went along and got pick of the litter which was very hard considering they all look so alike, but Diva kept running towards us and i think thety pick you :)

She is defiantly living up to her name already, shes into everything. She loves toys and bounces everywhere. Bailey is really good with her but also tells her off. She just looks at you like errm is she supposed to be chewing that. They love tugging together but dont think Bails has quite understood just how little and delicate she is, although Diva is pretty chunky to say she is only 7 weeks. Shes so confident and cant wait to get her out and about already :)

Toy group - Papillon
I love the look of them, they always seem to have huge characters and not the type of toy dog which would be happy in a handbag!

Terrier group - Staffy
I love Borders and Cairns but the staffy just had to win it for me. Everytime i meet one its just like looking at Bailey. They are such happy, fun spirited dogs, but also very loyal and athletic!

Hound Group - Beagle
Dogs from this group never really stand out for me, but the Beagle won. We were so close to owning one as dad loves them, and on paper suit our lifestyle well, but they are just one of them breeds that i very rarely see a 'nice' looking one. However when i do, i could run off with it :) Pharaoh Hound would be second choice, they are so stunning, and athletic but i think im dreaming.

Gundog Group - Hungarian Vizsla (smooth)
Couldnt really be anything else since im on a waiting list for one. :) I cant even tell you why, i just want one! Fell in love with one at obedience and for the last 4 years iv not changed my mind on the breed thats for me! The pointers and setters are also up there. Not personally a spaniel fan.

Utility Group - Akita
This was a really tough one as none of the dogs i really liked. I have met a few Akitas and they have all been fantastic. Very fun dogs and i just love their faces.

Working Group - Dobermann
Another hard group for me. Iv always said i want a big dog that i dont really do agility or flyball with but own because i just love them. I Love rotties, Bullmastiffs, and the Dogue de Bordeaux. However when i see a Dobermann i just stare at how graceful and gorgeous they are. They also hold up their own in both Agility and Flyball.

Pastoral Group - Swedish Vallhund
Another Group where i liked a lot of the dogs, Border Collies, Aussie Sheps, Shetland sheepdogs, Belgian Sheperds. I just LOVE Swedish Vallhunds. There is a cracking one in flyball and a lot of people mention how alike they are to Bails. Plus they seem to have big characters and forget they only have little legs (just like Bails). i guess they have to be strong willed to herd big Cows.

Its been such a long time since i updated this. I guess i dont really know where to start.

Looking back over the last year or so i love just how far me and Bailey have come. I never really thought me and Bailey used to have a strong bond but over the last year i think we have become very close.

In the last year we have got our act together with Agility training, our "asbo" moments seem to happen less frequently and she seems to be a lot more consistant in competitions.

In the last year she has:
Gone from grade 2-5 on Agility wins
Won a number of Jumping classes
Won a division at the british championships with her team in flyball
Got her 3000 flyball points

To some people they may seem pretty small achievments but in the past year we have only done around 6 KC competitions and a few unaffiliated. When we first started agility Bailey wouldnt even recall to her own name and for around 6 months i battled to get her to do 4 jumps in a row! When we did enter competitions she did a lot of stress behaviour like weeing in almpst every ring, run off and go for the judges. So many times i nearly walked away from it all, and so many times i heard people it will all come together. She has just gone 7 years old and i can say this has been the first year i have entered the ring running classes to actually win them, and not to just try and get her around still fully under control.

I totally adore her and im really enjoying her to the max. She's so fun, totally enjoying herself and my little gem.

Cant wait for puppy fun next summer

sorry just lost a bit of interest in my blog, so thats really why iv not been updating.

Iv sort of fallen out of love with the competition world too. I dont know of its because iv now been doing it a good few years or if me and Bailey are just slightly unchallenged now. We seem to know each other so well now there is no real skill in running her in agility and Flyball comps are becoming more stressful and longer!!

I also get really bored easily and after about 3 hours at an agility comp or a few runs im bored and switched off. eeekkk!!

We have been enjoying agility training more though as its always loads of fun. Shes also in a cracking little team for flyball with her crazies :)

Its not all been bad. Bails has now gone grade 4 and got another few places. We also have a few agility shows booked but they are really spread apart which is better for me.

Iv now graduated from college and trying to get rid of the inner student *cough cough* things are also really busy in other ways too :)

Bailey is fab and looking really fit and healthy, i can finally feel her ribs after years of battling with the parents. Shes such a happy girl and iv been enjoying spending more time with her and taking her on nice walks.

No new pics im afraid...think il have to dust off the camera!

Quiet week

Not a lot has been happening around here. My dad is digging up the garden to which has brought the inner mud monster out.

Bailey has a really big obsession with anything soil/dirt/mud. While my dad has been digging the new pond she has been literally diving on the spade lol. My dad had tryed to put her on the lead but she just sceamed her head off....like excited swimming/flyball screaming.

You can usually find bailey on her back while queuing at agility as she also likes to dig up little patches of grass and roll on the MUD.. crazy i know

With being out there around 6 hours a day and her extra walks she's shattered at night.

Otley next week, still a grade 3 but it will be quite nice to not have to really work at it.

Waldridge Fell

I really like this show but i hate the drive....I cant really remember the courses inside and out but i was a little disappointed with Baileys overall performance. I took her from the ring twice and only got one pretty ok run from her all weekend. I think she got a 4th in the agility class but out of real placings.

Nottingham

Iv never been to Nottingham before and i loved it and its a massive show. 3 days before i realised i had totally missed a jumping class in the schedual so only had 3 runs..numpty! My Sat-Nav also lost control on the way there meaning i was totally clueless as to where i was going and decided to just follow signs to nottingham and then Newark! My Sat Nav finally found life 7 miles before we got there and i was actually in the right area. After a drive around the houses we got there!

Bailey had a second in ring and it was already baking at 8.45am! I walked her 1-3 Agility and loved it and i actually thought....We can do this!! We ran quite late in the class and Bailey seemed really switched. Her weaves her sllllooowwww but her contacts were good!! Leanne got me a little exctied when she was like "your winning it"...but there was still a good few dogs to run. They just kept getting silly mistakes so we ended up with a 1st so grade 4 here we come :S

Next Agility was graded 3 Agility. Pretty nice course but after a long wait, now being mid-day and boiling i really had to push Bails around. She almost came to a standstill in the weaves they were that slow but somehow managed 2nd!!

Her jumping was last and she set off pretty good but i lost her to a sniff so collected her and took her out..naughty naughty.

All in all a really good day and i will definatly be going next year.

EMDAC

It was EMDAC last sunday annd since it seems like ages ago im not going into too much detail.

The first jumping round was pretty good. She definatly didnt reach a Bailey gear but wasnt half as bad as DV. We got a steady clear in 22.77s but it was a very fast course so didnt get anything.

We then had a huge 4 hour wait until the next classes and i really thought she would switch off. First was up and over. It was a really fast, flowing course and Bailey went and thought about sniffing. I knew we wouldnt get anywhere so i just bombed her down the line of jumps getting us E'd as i just wanted her to RUN this weekend.

Next was agility, again she wanted to sniff but i dragged her around the top corner, but pulled her off a jump too early. There was a tricky tunnel part with a pull through and twice you had to swap sides for taking the tunnel twice. We got E'd which i didnt find suprising.

Double Take agility i really thought we could pull it off. There was just one jump set off at an angle which was harder than it looked and walked. I knew if a set her out to it she would pick it up fine. She nailed the rightly named No.13 jump and bombed her contacts! We picked up 12th and top medium.

We also had a quick go at Cleverdogs. We have only ever done it once years ago, but since we had basically all mid-day free we had a go. Bailey was totally confussed. Not only does she hate running lead dog in flybal, she now had to do that, with no team mates behind her and putting her over an agility course before. She ran the agility course, jumped 2 flyball hurdles and turned around looking at me like WTF is this!!! One or the other please!

Poor girl she clearly cant cope with more than one thing at once....like dog like owner there then :P

Last weekend me and Bails had our first dog vagas comp. Iv never been to that showground as scunthorpe dont do mediums and we are usually flyballing the same weekend as dog vagas. Not a very good weekend for us. We just didnt have it with us that weekend! Im hoping its the whole first outdoor show thing but we shall be proven wrong or right this weekend at emdac.

She didnt really have bailey courses, most were twisty starts, or contact traps which means she started off slow and me bieng over causious! I need to trust her more! We did however pull off a 2nd in 3-5agility! I wasnt even expecting a place never mind a 2nd. It was a money class to so bails made me £5 lol.

The sun has finally started shining, but it means the cows are back >( I dont mind cows at all but Bailesy has a thing for calf poo!! I have no idea why but on nearly every walk this week she has rolled!! eerhh scruffy thing. And i dont mean just rolled she has been covered!

Emdac this week, im not holding any hopes at all but it would be nice to get a few points. I can take her ball in her classes this sunday though so it might just be a training/blasting weekend. :)

Rotherham

We were at Rotherham for our first flyball comp of the year on grass. It was still "indoors" in the marquee, but its always nice to be on grass!!

Bailey was on fire, i was so pleased with her. I kept getting really close change overs as she was just soo much faster than in training. She ran perfectly all day apart from the last leg where she fumbled and lost the ball just before the line. She then decided she must bring it all the way back so turned around to get it, crashing with poor Sam!!

We Finished with a 1st which i think we deserve as Baileys team always end up 2nd! ;)

Dog vagas next weekend sunday and monday!!

Well it hasnt been quiet around here, infact really busy but not had much blogging material! Im really busy at the moment, college are putting so much pressure on us as its the last push to the end now. Im just starting to see a tiny light at the end of a very long tunnel. I currently have 9 assignments on the go!! Yep 9!! So much for them promising not to pile things on us!

My diary is getting full with show entrys on both agility and Flyball. We have Rotherham next weekend and then DV which im really looking forward to.

Last week we has Sheffield Flyball comp. I was really pleased with Bails, she ran really well with just a ball fumble. Came home with 2nd, i think we have a theme developing with the 2nds in flyball.

Bailey was seen by Kath the chiro on saturday morning with the Owlers gang. I knew her back was tight again as she had been scrunching her gait and her right shoulder seems to turn out slightly. (my parents think im paranoid, but when you know what your looking for its easy to see) Kath give her the once over, she said her back was tight but not as bad as last time, and it was only the top of her back and not all the way down. So was a bit relieved with that! Everything else was fine.

I should be enjoying the sun but im stuck in working :( the parents are away and Bailey has been really good with all my friends decending on us. They just think shes potty, and i think she likes showing off infront of them! lol

Spring!

Not updated for a while again! oopps.

Me and Bailey have been getting back into training again after having a few bad agility sessions. She had a 2 week break from training as i was stopping at a friends one night straight after training and the other i was away for the week.

On tuesday i really got her concentrating more and not standing for any running off, sniffing ect. She was doing a pretty tough grade 6/7 course but i was really pleased with her and she worked really nicely and getting her Dogwalk entry instead of the dreaded tunnel traps. I then did an extra ten mins working on some of the garden sequences we have done. She was doing really well and her commands are still strong. This has ment i could hang back a bit more of flick flacks and turns with only strong worded commands instead of working her around using hand/arm signals which she tends to ignore anyway lol.

Jersey
I went to Jersey last week with Uni for five days. Sadly it was in tents and was the worst weather they had seen in a while, which was basically our normal wind and rain. Apparently it was an "educational" trip but i think we only did one day enrichment and workshops at the famous Durrell zoo. The rest of the time was spent in bars, pubs, pub crawls and bowling lol

About time for an update!!

Poor Bails has been a bit neglected this week as the whole family have been really busy, an elderly lady we know had a stroke and my mum being the only close friend has been running around for her. Then her husband who has Dementia is needing regular care but decided tuesday night to go missing. We had to report him to the police and it worked out he had gone to look for his car! Which he isnt allowd to drive!! He is fine but means the parents are out the house almost all day. Bailey has been making do with 15min walks as iv been staying up til 2am doing uni work as we have so much on at the moment.

Last sunday we went to sheffield Flyball comp and had a really great time. It was indoor on matting and we did some really good racing. We were seeded top but a team had some new fast dogs and we had no chance at beating them. We ended a very respectable 2nd. I was really pleased with Bailey, she was flying over 11" and looked a lot more comfortable.

Today my big assignment was due in so Bailey has had a bit of a treat day. Iv been working on Ruffdogs trick of the month which is In and Outs, and our video results are below. She is still being aided by my hand which im going to work on and is still a bit messy. Iv also found she will only start on my Right which means shes "weaving" into the left. The only thing i can think is she is so used to agility weaves starting on the Left that she finds it confussing doing it the other way. Its took a while but we have just about managed it now :)

Sorry for the slow updates...busy busy :)

Well me and leanne had a 2 hour road trip to WF on saturday in my little wug (car).

All the classes where combined 1-7 but still pretty small. The classes where very easy on paper but when walking it you could see where dogs could go wrong. In the first jumping the spacing was very tight, even i was worried with Bailey who generally strides short. I was going to set her up for a wait start to get a close 90 degree right turn, but Bailey decided to throw her usually solid wait and it really through me. She ran the turn wide and set off towards the tunnel which was facing the other way with no entrances even facing her idiot!! Of course she then knew she was qrong and went into terrior mode!!!

Agility she got distracted by the pole picker, (errhhh) most dogs take no notice of them at all, but Bailey either finds them far too exciting or farr too scary or have to be told. This time he had to be told off, she was then far too distracted for weaves and went at snails pace!! stupid girl. The end was nice abnd fast with her amazing contacts :)

The last class jumping was very messy and in all the classes i didnt get a clear out of her all day, i think its first comp of the season sydrome as last year she was terrible too *roll eyes*

We arrived back from out trip about 6.45pm and then i dashed to get ready for a night out...mental i know doing a mad 23hour day lol!!

Agility last night was crazy, we have soo much fun there, me and Bails love it now, she was a little distracted but so was i lol from a certain lindsay!! I need to get back into the frame of things and work her properly!!

Oww we are also on twitter now, yey!!! It may contain random things nothing to do with Bails or dogs, but hey ho lol

The Results:

This was Bailey at 6 months old. Everyone cant get over how much she changed from pup to her gorgeous self but i think in this pic she was definatly becoming Bailey. This was at Hemsworth water park. She was watching the kiddies playing in the park. Looking at this photo, i just cant help thinking how little we knew about the canine world and just how much me and her would develop both as a team and as a friendship. Mental what you can do with just a few years, she has really changed my life for the good :)

Training

Training last night was really good, Bailey was working really well with me and i left rather pleased with her!

We worked on box turns and flick flacks. Me and Bailey have always liked flick flacks and we just seem to have always "got them". Leanne showed us another way to work them which worked well, but now its just me that has to remember to actually do it!!

Her box work was great too, the work on turns iv been doing seems to have really paid off. Her commands seemed pretty strong and 99% of the time got it spot on. Her weave entries from the box were amazing!!... 90 degree angled and she nailed it every time :D

Just wish i had the camera *roll eyes*

Had some slightly bad news in terms of flyball. Owlers first comp of the season was Rotherham next weekend, but for reasons it was moved to a different venue, indoors and on matting which most of us dont really like...plus the venue is a bit shabby! :$
Looks like we are planning an Owlers walk instead :D

Ruffdogs Do a new trick to teach you dogs every month or so and after aaggesss of trying to teach Bails we finally cracked it, she was just so determind to drop her bum everytime i asked the position, its now her best trick when in freeime.

Bailey also behaved herself at training this week, she was actually flying, i worked on weaves and turns mostly.

Asbo agility dog!!

Well after having 2 weeks off training, i said as soon as i got to the arena training would go one way or another. In other words it being a fab session or a s**t one.

Bailey was terrible, she was eating horse poo, and generally looking like she had never set foot on an agility course. She was annoying the new dogs and totally ignoring temptations of food and cage ball lol!!

I think i got about 3 half hearted runs with her, before admitting defeat!

Didnt manage to make it training this saturday! I was bit gutted as i knew bails would be on fire, plus we need to do some 11" training :D But i ended up being called into work and as im first on the list for overtime, i cant really afford to say no!

Me and Bailey had a really good 2008.

We finally joined 'Owlers and have now totally settled into the teams. Bailey has been running better all year and crazier. She also gained her FBI which to be honest i didnt think we would even get this award let alone be already working our way to the next.

We have really really clicked together in agility. She has really speeded up and seems to be really enjoying herself on runs. She has tightened up better on turns and her weaves and contacts are much faster. I think it has been the best outcome on 2008 that me and Bailey seem to be enjoying it more and i actually look forward to competitions with her and look to enter more as i know that its not going to be a day of me just battling her stubborness.

So here is to 2009, im sure it will be as fun and as busy as last year :)

Think its time for an update.

I have been so busy its mad, bailey seems to have really enjoyed it this past week or so.

Christmas
Bailey got some very nice pressies for christmas and she loved opening them all, as well as ours. she got a cage ball which i knew she would love. It looks like it has taken the place of her beloved Asda ball. She also got a fox soft toy and a stuffed turkey, along with a lead and some chews.

Beach
We went to the beach on monday. It was a very nice walk and Bails loved it, along with cage ball she did so much running.

Anyways just a quick update, i hope everyone had a good christmas and new year. I cant wait for 2009!!!

when you busy hehehe!!

Sums up my life at the moment, i love and hate this time of year. I hate the lack of time and everyone seems to be running around like mentalists. Work is getting busy which means more hours spent there, iv done a few 10 hour shifts which basically pushes bailey out of the picture on them days and she is walked by my parents :( which also means fed by them!! >:(

We do still have our 5 minute training session at night, we used to do 10 minutes but she always gets soo fustrated when learning something new, she ends up loosing concentration and throwing in all her old tricks until she hears the beloved clicker! lol At the moment we are just finishing the Bow, it has never been this hard to teach her anything, i think its because her down command has always been so strong that she just kept dropping after a few seconds, so i spent weeks just getting her to keep her bum off the ground. 5 mins or so is spent on the new trick when she is fresh and keen and then i end with a 5 minute free time, her fav free time trickat the moment is show us her super fast flat and roll over, soo funny to watch her when she does it as fast as she does!

Doncaster was at the weekend, Me and Bailey just didnt seem all there this weekend. Bailey never seemed to get as hyper as she normally does and she also was flat out asleep between races in the car. It was maybe something to do with the 4 hour walk my mum took her on the day before..ooppps. The ground wasnt ideal though and most of our dogs didnt run their usual. Although we still came away with a 2nd!! :D It was also freezing.

Not sure if its just me, but im feeling christmas a little bit more this year although i cant believe its only 24days away!! Its crazy at this time of year. Yesterday i braved the shops for presents and its was chaos!!

Bailey is getting a new coat today as she chewed the buckle off her other in the car at flyball training.... so much for trying to keep her from frosting over. She was a good girly at training. She wasnt running as fast as normal but i think it took her a while to warm up, i hope its not this cold on sunday at Doncaster!!!

Today its her 6th Gotcha day. She means sooo much to me and brought me out of the bad times i was having at that time.

Gosh i am soo busy at the moment i havent even looked on here for a week lol!! I have been doing extra shifts at work and all uni work has started arriving!! Last year we all complained it was all pilled on us late and this year we a still complaining it bieng pilled on us early lol!!

Bailey is fine but i do feel a bit guilty at not spending much time with her. I am really glad i didnt enter any shows over the winter as i am shattered!! Today she had lots of fun while i was at work! We had some paving delivered and we had to move them in the rain tonight into the other garden and she loved chasing us up and down the street with her ball!!

We had flyball on saturday in the first time in what seems like ages, and i didnt have a hangover!! She was on fire even though conditions were what could be described as slippy mud!!

It was from training and lincoln....as you can see we were having weave issues as our weaves need tightening up as they swivel into a channel throwing the dogs out!! A job for handy dad lol!!!

Not really had that much to add on here this week.

Agility training went well again. She seems to have a totally new attitude to agility now and a good one at that. She now has to wear a fleece harness when training as she barks all the time and ends up hanging herself on a collar. I know its not ideal running them in a harness and having her bark 24/7 but in a way i know she is enjoying it and wound up, which i have been working on getting!!

She's also developed a naughty habit of lunging for the dog running!! tutut

I actually have videos this week but im going to collect more in the next few weeks.

Warzone - fireworks are apparently pretty
The fireworks are driving her crazy at home. The first night she was fine, totally ignored them and slept soundly!! But from then on it has been a bit of a nightmare. She has refused to eat 2 meals (not my dog at all) refuses to go out in the garden for a wee, which means i have to set my alarm at 1am to let her out once all the fireworks have stopped!! I guess it is worse with bonfire falling on wednesday too meaning there are two weekends of bonfires and parties. *roll eyes*

Rotherham
Well we had an extra hour in bed as the clocks changed which i guess made the 5.30 start a little easier to cope with!

I set of around half 6 and got there well on time. We were set to race at around 8ish with Eagles running. It was the first comp to be held in a huge marque. It was a little strange and it did hold all the noise inside making it very loud but all our dogs were totally fine in it. Eagles ran really well winning every race, one was a NFC team and some other teams did have trouble with dogs running out, but we did have some close races too and Bailey was running her socks off. Leanne got some videos of her on her blog!

Agility
Me and Bailey had a pretty good training session last night, the work in the garden on tighter turns seems to work on a whole if i get in the right place, but if im not where i need to be she turns like a plane again. Here weaves are fab still though i just hope she keeps the speed in comps as she seems to really slow down in them when in the ring :$

Im just going to keep pushing her more and more and hopefully it will pay off next year, i still totally forgot my camera as having a bit of a bad week! My best friend sadly lost her dad on monday and she has been literally living here a lot as her mum has been living at the home with him. Bailey is happy though having yet another fav person stopping and to pester!!

Thank you to also all the loverly comments about Baileys weight and slimmer figure, she has been on a strict diet and it WILL stay like this, il have to put a before and after post on to show the difference :)

Well the title says it all!!!

Bailey was running really really well last night, but i just couldnt get it together! It took me no less than 6 attempts at a simple two jump flick flack, and Bailey was doing exactly what i was telling her perfect, it was just me doing it totally the wrong way!! We love flick flacks too!!

She was really "powering" on last night and getting some really hard weave entrys perfect everytime, although she is a pretty solid girl with them :) which i am very pleased at.

Next week i really need to get my act together but i think this break from shows will do us good!

We had a booster appointment monday, and then vet asked several times if she really was 6!! He said she was in amazing health and her back isnt as bad as first thought, just to get her on a gloucosamine mix to help her when she needs it. So that was a huge relief, and he said she has amazing muscle tone which she should from all the stuff she does lol.

Hydrotherapy again tonight for a mad swim!! And then Rotherham on sunday, which i cant wait for :D

I have had such a busy week that i havent really had chance to blog!!

Last week me and Bailey had a really good training session. Im really working on just flying the courses and i think thats generally what everone wants to train too so it was really good for me and bails. Her dogwalk is amazing, she does have natural running contacts but she was flying over it! Hopefully i can get her Aframe like that too. The only problem we seem to be having is im not giving her commands early enough when she has speed, so she ends up taking wrong jumps, or turning really really wide, so something there to work on over the winter.

Im taking my camera on tuesday so il get some video!!

We didnt end up making it to flyball on saturday!! I had a really bad headache the night before and just didnt feel like shouting, and listening to Baileys non-stop crazy flem barking all morning lol. It was team training for Rotherham this weekend, but there is no doubts Bailey wont perform on the day and im pretty ok with my changeovers (eekk).

This next week im home alone with Bails (yey) so goin to be busy busy, in the morning its baileys booster and getting her weighed hehe, im a bit miffed as mums been feeding her the last few days as i have been working and she always overfeeds her :( so she will probibly be off the scales ;)

Flyball training yesterday morning was a little bit mad. We havent trained for quite some time there and Bailey was really pleased to be back :)

Teams were a little muddled as people were missing, or keep having babies hehehe!! Bailey was running with mollie in a 'team', made up also of the gorgeous Bryn just learning to get used to the crazy world of teams. It was really good as they got lots of stamina work in, and i prefected my close close changeovers with mollie (most too early, sorry mollie). Bailey loves mollie, and i think its a case of who can out-crazy the other!! It does look like chaos, but we can say mostly organised hahaha!!!!

Bailey seems to also love indoor competitions, as aparently she was flying last weekend!! hmm bring on Rotherham lol.

Yesterday Bailey was loaned out for the day. She went flyballing without me to Doncaster. My friend sarah kindly picked her up at 6.30 and took her with her collies for the day, she was run by Katie, who from what i have heard did really well with her :)

i cant really comment on the flyball as i was working instead but Bailey behaved herself and did me proud, i think they came 4th!

Not got any agility comps coming over the next few month, Bailey will be having a break but doing some tougher training sessions! I might squeeze one in around january time.

We have a flyball comp in two weeks though and il still have lots to update on, and videos :)

I am actually really guilty at the moment and also a little angry with myself.

Why does it take the death of one small dog, one that i dont even say i have seen let alone met to change my whole outlook on the way me and Bails work?! I am talking of course about the sad loss of little Hex. One minute she's a champ agility star, next she is nothing but a legacy!

I feel really guilty that i have not enjoyed every minute, of every run with Bails. There was times when i hated her, wished she was like this dog or that, and times i nearly walked away from it all. And now i look back and think all that time all i needed to do was stop and relax a bit!!

My outlook on Bails and me has totallty changed since leaving springers, within the last year we have worked more as a team, enjoyed each other and seemed to have finally got our acts together! With the loss of poor Hex my decision this weekend changed.

Lincoln saturday
Jumping 1-3 first and although it was a nice course i was a little worried about this, Bailey set off in great speed and just before a 90o angled tunnel entry she comitted to a jump but at the last minute decided to play tunnel instead!!

Grade 3 agility i lovveedd, my fav course of the weekend. She flew the first round and did a loverly flick flack (which we love) but did a Bailey trick and went dog walk instead of weaves!! Was totally my fault i should have blocked the dog walk and she loves contacts....even though it wasnt actually an obvious trap, she then decided to take her own course of all the contacts twice just for fun, i had to laugh and still do!!

Last class was 1-3 agility, we hate the last run as we have usually lost the will to play agility anymore and she was slow, but not as bad as been known, but on the box i think she thought we had finished, and as i tries to pull her round to the left, she went really wide and had a nosey at some equipment!! lol
Sunday

Bailey had a 1-3 agility, we had a really slowish start to this run and then suddenly she got her zoomies on after the dogwalk and did a fast finish to the course ending 6th! her time was 30.32 and she could have made up time, if we had zoomies all the way! lol

Grade 3 agility was ok and started nice, she was running well and listened to me but she was too busy gruffing at the judge and wrapping a wing, back jumped, it was a shame as she had a really nice round apart from that!

Last class 1-3 jumping i had missed walking, and didnt have any time to absorb the layout, we started well but i totally misjudged the spacing of jumps and she stuck her nose in the tunnel!!

I know we didnt have a very successful day on paper but i really really enjoyed it, and enjoyed every run with her, i also did what i wanted to achieve which was try and get her speeded up more and running more consistantly.

A huge well done to Vicki and Pippa who i finally met, winning lots and lots this weekend,

And also to leanne and kimmy!!

Well it was Bailey 6th Birthday last saturday and since she has had a few lazy days iv not had much to report on.

She has however been helping my mums friends boxer pup overcome its fear of dogs, after being mauled by two jack Russels, at only 5 month it refused to go near other dogs. Well after 2 weeks of slowly introducing them and lots of shyness, they were running around the park like loonies on sunday. He was really playing with her and after about half an hour a lurcher joined in and was happy to play with that too. So a success story and im so proud Bailey could help!!

Last night we had a session of hydrotherapy, which she loves!! She dragged me in the door and that was it, for 30mins she was in the pool all the time, and i still had to drag her out the door!! She was nackered but just kept going and going!! And the Jets were on so a little bit more work for them too.

I did take my camera but i was just not with it at all and didnt get any snaps!! :(

Soo off to the woods we went today for a gorgeous long walk! Bailey loves it down there as it caters for one of her loves....squirrels!

Changes.....and update

I was getting a little bored with the pink so thought i would go for a simple layout, i might change bits over the next few weeks. Hope you like it!!

I dont really have much to update on the training front of things. Last weeks agility training was quiet as there was only me, leanne and dogs. We put a simple course out mostly working on weaves. All the dogs where in a really hyper mood and although very distracted she worked the course pretty well, but did have her attitude moments.

There is no flyball training for a few weeks either.

We have lincoln in a few weeks and then i think im going to rest her over the winter as im getting a look at her back again i think. Just because i am still not 100% happy with her although she is fine in herself and still running around loopy, im just not sure, she has been lame since the chiro visit and i just want to make sure! Also swimming sessions are starting again at hydro centre and im going to work on fitness.

Still have a few flyball comps booked though :)

Had a bit of a chat about a puppy the other night!! I know a lady who will have a litter of Vizsla pups ready early next year. We have decided not to go for this litter as timing is not great and although its easy to get one out of temptationi just cant 110% say im ready, and a few other reasons.

Basically they will be from show strains and i would ideally like working, just because they tend to be a bit loopy and dizzy compared with working. They also tend to be smaller and i dont really want a small large as i would worry about joints ect! :$

Also i dont feel like i could cope with training another at the moment, it takes a lot more time and effort than what i am putting into to training at the moment, and i dont have time for socialising classes either :(

Im just going to continue having fun with my little girly and this time next year..... who knows ;) :D

Yorkshire Bouncers...Yorkshire style!!

Well i know Yorkshire people have a bit of a reputation for bieng a bit crazy and for not letting a good thing go to waste. But to be honest whilst looking out of my window on friday afternoon with the rain flooding from the skyes and still YB was going ahead, i thought omg they are MAD!!

I knew i had to leave early for work at one and there was a chance at a push i would get two classes in, so i got up looked out of the window to clear skyes!! So we set off with not expectation as she was sooo naughty at last years show, including weeing in the ring, and running off!!!

First in ring was agility!! We had to wait for large to run as in BAA heights are combined. So i got bails out when jumps where down and lined up behind a beardie, not registering her love for all things hairy and our beardies at 'Owlers. So she watched barking this Beardie, and it wasnt even very fast. So i knew she was hyper, well we set off and she just went, i really really enjoyed this run with her, when i know she is soo focused. Did a cracking little round.

Jumping we squeezed in, and she did a nice clear ended up 16th.

Got a text at work from leanne to say her agility she came 2nd :o totally not expected but made my day at work go better and i was on cloud 9 all day!!

Lack of motivation

Im actually losing the will to just about do anything at the moment. I hate not having a routine and having NOTHING to do. Its slowly driving me mad!

I dont start Uni again until the 1st october and to be honest im not looking forward to yet another year at the place run by monkeys. (In fact monkeys would do a better job) They are just so un-clued about teaching methods, you can tell they are animal tutors.

Work is limited to 4 and 1/2 hours. How anyone is ment to run and insure a car, at the sametime have a social life!?!?!? The credit crunch is even hitting work!!!

Poor Bails seems to be feeiling the effects as she also seems really down in the dumps. Although it did thunder a little yesterday which always puts her out for a while.

Trained, well we havent. Bailey has gone what i am calling lame but isnt actually lame all the time. Its when she trots at a certain pace, and isnt sore as she still runs like a loon when she wants to. Its really odd and worrying as she saw the chiro only last weds and seems to have already un-done all her work. Typical. So this ment she didnt train yesterday at agility and neither tonight at flyball. Im going to try a new vets which has been recommended to me as im fed with getting a totally different vet everytime we go and they end up asking 50 questions before they start work just to get to grips with the dog.

On a brighter note, we are hopefully at yorkshire Bouncers agility show on saturday morning. Hopefully Bails will be 100% again and we will try and get a few runs in before i dash off to work to ern much needed cash!!!!

Well agility training was a bit of a shambles, She was working ok and half the problem is me. Im not really sure what it is, i think im too relaxed or un-motivated and Bailey is distracted too much, and isnt listening. She was running quiet slow and turning like a tank, but her weaves are nice and she seems to have kept her speed which is nice. So im going to take a different approach next week and see if it works, we shall see! Must get my bum in gear though!!

Flyball yesterday was fun, although she was a little naughty. She doesnt tend to come straight back after runs and likes to chase the dogs returning. She never actually goes up the lane but its fustrating as soemtimes she comes straight back!!

Owlers had a chiro booked to see some of our dogs and i jumped at the chance after her last session. She was a good girl but did have a sore back around her shoulders, she asked if she hit the box hard, which she doesnt but i said she did crufts flyball a few years ago. The chiro said that was most likely to be blamed as they twist and seeing some of the acrobatics bailey attempted well you can see why. She also had a sore right hip, but should be ok for now.

I have some videos from training but i need to fill the disc first as they are a lot of money and cant be re-used.

Well i am back from holiday but now full of cold. I got back early on tuesday morning and after 3 hours sleep took myself to agility training. It was a really fun session and only 3 of us were training. We sort of made it fun, and i didnt put as much effort in as i should eek. Bailey was trying my luck as i knew she would. She is terrible and because i had been away and she had got away with murder with my parents she was just testing to see if i was still in charge. Terriers!!!

Well i took the video and let my friend linz loose with it. And well she did cr*p with the camera *note to never let her have it again*

Out of 30mins of filming 3 dogs about 15mins was rubbish lol.

Flyball training she was running over 11" because it was the only height available. Bloody dog got almost perfect "bouncing" stride over 11" and she measures 12" where she struggles to stride. So i am going to TRY and get her re-measured under the new system.

Had some sad news yesterday, my little Honey bun was pts at 8 1/2 years old. Her back legs were failing and she was starting to just lay in the same place 24/7 making her wet herself and very uncomfy. It was really sad :( I will miss that girly.

Well it has been really dull on the training side of things. Agility was cancelled because of the rain.

Flyball, well we havent trained at all this week. Wednesday we couldnt make it up as my car was getting MOT'd and ironically my handbrake snapped!!!! which i found a bit odd as my drive is a sharp hill and it holds fine on thier. Anyways it looked like it had been tugged so i went home with a failed car and my dad to mend it. Meaning i couldnt make it up.

Friday night i went on a big night out, I havent let my hair down in ages and one thing and another has been going wrong recently. So i rounded up everyone and we had a GREAT night out, well an early morning. A group of us were still sat outside a betting shop at 5.00am, and the lads had to drag us in a taxi. So this for sure ment training was out of the question. I madly got up on time and my dad came down to find the dog with her harness on and me asking for a lift. I was still really drunk. anyways he said i could never run her like that. damm lol

So Bails wont get trained for at least a week and a bit as i am off to Corfu on monday for a week. :D

Here is a pic of the girl herself, watching flyball. Bailey was always one of them dogs who was in her own world outside the ring, but this weekend she really did enjoy watching and going crazy at the fence. Even at one point escaping and joining the Eagles in the ring eekk. lol

Well it was a very nice weekend at York. It was a loverly show. We ran most team saturday and as sadly leannes dogs had come down with KC and it was only Barking that wasnt affected and so times and teams where a bit out.

Barking ran really well and ended 1st, and so did eagles.

Marsh were the very mixed team, they had Bailey and Archie from nights join them to make up numbers. We did really well and they all ran there socks up but it just wasnt enough and ended up 5th. We would have won 3 races but nogging fumbled and lost her ball giving her a light. (ohh well) She doesnt care about the placings.

She has however officially and finally got her 1000 points award, and i must say i have really enjoyed her this weekend. I think we are really close recently, and i enjoy her soo much :D

Soo from getting tipsey and playing rounders in the dark, an owlers 4th Birthday and good results. It was a very good weekend :)

Hot Hot Hot!!

Wow how nice has it been this weekend :D

Flyball training on saturday was a scorcher, all the dogs were boiling. We usually set up at around 9.00am and it was already really warm. As the dogs got racing the heat just seemed to climb. All the dogs were slower, but they just love it sooo much they just keep going back and i know a few would litarally burn themselves out.

It was a nice chill in the afternoon and a gentle walk in the afternoon down the shaded woods and a paddle in the stream.

On friday i took her down the park for a swin and stamina work in the heat with the famous green adsa ball :) So yesterday i decided to wander down too and really get her working. Today we have just had a huge walk in the fields, and was glad i took water lol

Not much to report from agility apart from she is back on form :)

Well i was sorta hoping i was entered at York but as my flyball diary has vanished i wasn't sure what i had put down for. Well we are and at the back of my mind i was pleased as my poor little girl has been competing for some years now, just never seems to be getting anywhere with points as her teams always seem to just miss out on the big points. And it is a little sad as she puts her all into it everytime she runs and i am looking forward to her getting her 1000 points, bless!!!

Taining was fun last night and Bails did well dispite the heat. She was a little hot but that never stops her at flyball and i am soo pleased with herhe has come a long way since her springer days. :)

Dylan was also changing really well into her, and she seemed to be behaving with him, which is also a plus, as she can be a little bugger to change with LOL.

We went to flyball last night with not having any since Clumber Park, and all the fitness training i had a feeling she would be on fire.

We were put into smaller teams, and at first she was running as lead dog with only another two to run with, she was not impressed and was pretty slow, but a fab box again :D.

Jane said she could do stamina work tonight so put her in another team to run with more dogs. Still running lead but with more dogs she became a little more motivated.

A short break and she put her in again with a proper team number and tight changeovers into sam, she was on fire and back to her crazy self. had a gorgeous box and was running like a trooper. :)

Nothing really else to add, but loads of people are away with dog realated sports and holidays. Im also away but not with Bailey. I am travelling for 4 hours down to weston-super-mare to gig at T4 and camp until monday which i cant wait for :D!!!!

not much to report on!! Haven't been flyballing all week as we were rained off weds and i had to work a friends shift on sat morning. But it means she will be crazy at the next session hopefully on wednesday night :)

We have pulled out of the 4 day emdac, well i didnt enter! I have to work as i have no pennies and my party and social life are costing a fortune, with a holiday and just about everything on my car to be done, including new tyres arrhh!!! But its a shame as i was looking forward to a holiday there and crashing in Katie and Jets caravan hehehe, (next time)

Bailey has been really naughty this week. I have noticed little things but at the moment she is "naughty". She was really naughty at agility on tuesday! Then at home she has been, getting into the rabbit cage and eating the food, raiding the bin, growling and barking at people on walks, chasing bikes lol, eating post, and loads more!!!, and she is hyper all the time!! I know it sounds normal but she is usually such an angel in the house. I think its because i am home a lot at the moment with having no uni and she is not chilling out and attention seeking! She is fine if left alone as she knows to chill and generally sleep but its driving me insane!!

I had a day off work and went off to Otley show at pontefract Racecourse. It was a lovely venue and very easy to get to, which is nice as we usually have to travel far.

Bailey was entered in her first classes as grade 3. And we were set to run in combined 3-5 classes which i was a little worried about as she can have her silly days.

It started with the 1-4 comined agility which was a nice course with a pull through which could be handled 2 ways. Bailey worked the course really well but took the pull through really wide loosing a bit of time as she thought about taking the tunnel. We finished coming 3rd with less than half a second from 2nd!!

Then was 3-5 jumping which to be honest i was worried about, it was pull throughs everywhere, and we usually dont do well on jumping rounds. We had a very messy clear with Bailey trying to take her own line and me pulling her back, and soo nearly getting E'd, but we got around until.....the judge decided to take the flat tunnel out as it was really heavy and catching the lighter dogs inside. I thought it was fair enough as a few dogs had struggled but Bailey is like a power house and never felt any difference. This ment we had to re-run the course and i got pushed to the back of the queue. Well we didnt pull it off as she knocked a pole and got E'd. Typical

3-5 agility was horrible and everyone was worried about it. I managed to get her E'd on the 2nd jump (opps) as i left my out command to late and then the bit i was worried about she did fine. It was also thundering in the distance and we had just had a big storm which she hates so i was soo proud she ran yet again in the worst situation for her.

1-4 jumping, we got a steady clear but by the last run of the day she has usually had enough and just wasnt running at all like she usually does!!

All in all i really had a great day dispite the rain and was sooo pleased with her as she did a lot better than expected with the harder courses. And huge well done to Kim who won into grade 3 and had a great weekend.

Well after my birthday last week and missing a Flyball competition, we were all ready for this weekends at Clumber Park. Thursday me, a friend and Bailey were set to walk up to Top Withens, where they based the book Withering heights. But it was pouring down so we decided against the 5 mile walk, as it is bleak up there even in the best of weathers, so we went for a walk around the res instead.

Me and Bailey ended up running Saturday, there had been a mix up with teams and days, but my kind boss let me off to join the rest of the gang.
We were set to get some good times in the Nights, With Big archie, Buffy, Bailey, Meg, and Sam but we just didnt seem able to pull it off, which was a shame. But Baileys box was really good and even got a nice comment!

The rest of the teams were cracking too, but it was suprisingly warm. I helped as vice captain for Captain Katie with Eagles, which was stressful, but i think more for Katie ;) was fun though!! Here is a video of the teams running:

Agility training

Well i was very pleased with my girl last night, she is really enjoying her agility training at the moment, after i was worried about her loosing interest.

She was flying and working away well, she is also listening to her commands more and turning tightly around the wings!! Yey.

God know where her weaves have come from, they have been terrible in the past like at shrewsbury, but she was flying and really trying to get speed in them bless her!!!

Well everyone else it as doncaster this weekend flyballing, but poor Bails is missing another because its my birthday, and i shall be partying and i have the Bon Jovi concert on sunday which i cant wait for!!!

Well training on tuesday was great, after 2 weeks off. All the dogs were flying! Bailey had her terrier head on, which sometimes i love as she works really speedy. Wrapping wings was once like turning a jumbo jet. But after some work at home that seems to be really improving. And 12 weaves with speed......i dont know where that has come from lol.

Flyball she only had a 3 dog team last night, and they arnt really barky dogs so to begin with i dont think Bailey was as "ready" as normal, but she looked good even though she hates running as lead dog!! She was also jumping smaller than usual and her stride looked even worse than over 12" Bless her.

Well thursday it was a nice day, i was planning on having a rare lazy day, but no Katie asked me on a walk!! She planned a 3 hour canal walk with stamina work for the pups. Well god did we walk for 6 hours and about 8 mile Me, leanne and Katie went and took a picnic! In between we stopped and played chuckit and the dogs swam. So in the end i think they went for a 10 mile walk, bless them.

Today we went down to the park with a friend and her two naughty borders, they dont have very much training and are nuts!!! They have to be kept on lead but i let bailey swim in the river for a good 15mins and then played loads of chuckit reps in the heat which was good for her!! She will only really play chuckit downn in the park, and she loves it! We then stopped for ice creams and was out about 2 hours which was great!

weighed Bails tonight and she weighs 15 1/2 kg, which i thought she would be more, so im pleased at that as she has lost weight, but would like to get her to more 15kg, we shall see with all this work shes doing :D (the pics dont do her justice, she fluffs up when shes went lol)

Went for a walk tonight with Dylan and Bailey.

He is 3 years old and huge, unfortunatly two of his litter mates were recently shot by a farmer and they think its because of the Rottie status, and not because they were near the livestock. Well he has made me totally in love with the breed.And he loves Bailey, just follows her everywhere, until she out runs him and disappears

No newark at the weekend, as our team is there on the saturday, so they will be a crazy one down :(. But means i can get some much needed work and social life done lol.

Bails is also now frizbee crazy as i got her a new frizbee, il get photos soon of her playing.

But seems the weather will be bad for a few days!!

Well today we was at Tabley flyballing!! It was a game fair so the parentals came wanting to look around, HA the weather was pants, it rained mostly non-stop all day! Which ment everyone, everything and every dog was wet!

Well my handling was rubbish, my change-overs where out the window and huge lol, stripe is a very strange dog to change with and sometimes he is fast which i change really well with, but today he had his known "lead legs" on and was really slow. I just couldnt get it together at all with him, and i was also having a few probs with Josh as i hadnt really ever run with him!!

Guns where back for clay shooting arrh, right next to the flyball ring and bails was yet again a state, but she gets in the ring and still gives it 100% all for a soggy smelly ball, what must they think!!

We did manage to get it together towards the end and did have some close races, so heres to next week (if sunday)!! And a new handler for bails hahahah.

The other teams did well, Barking did fab and had a very new team member in the name of the fab flossy, after a huge 2 years break and NO training got straight back into it running some great times, she is going to be one to watch. So they did very well considering it wasnt the best and nicest show!!

Anyways, so anyone wants a nice little, double striding, 12" height dog, shes free to a great handler. hahah no cant fault her at all.

Sorry its a bit simple but must get back to bloody uni work, arrhhh!!! stressed!!!

Well its coming up to the end of may. Cant believe where this month has gone, its really scary!!

Bailey had an goodish flyball session, i was really hungover and not with it at all!! Bailey sat the first of our team races out and was sooo ready she was foaming at the mouth!! Then she had a bash and did well again bless her, she just loves it soo much.

Had a long break, but when i got her out of the car she was lame, its her front right again!! So going to get that checked for sure!!! Obviously i took her home, even though she would have run, she just doesnt know her limits, and later that night was bombing around with another dog, Tut!!!

Katie kindly gave me a clicker she had spare, i have totally lost mine and Bailey was really responsive to it, so today inside away from the rain, im going to "load" the clicker back up!! which im sure she will love as lots of treats, for doing nothing, hehe.

I love my new camera, slowly getting the hang of it, and hoping to take some action shots at the weekend!!

Well i must admit i was really worried about Bailey at the last two agility comps i wasted my money on! Un-motivated is not the word!!

So i set out for Waldridge on the sunday with absolutly no expectations, thinking it would be yet another day of fighting her stubborness!!

Well the rings were not running in order at all and we begun, un-known to me and Leanne with graded 1-2 agility. She was actually tugging in the start which was a good sign and it started with jump - walkway which i knew she would like, it was such a bailey course and all my handling was thrown out of place and i just RAN!! She did loverly 12 weaves which she hasnt done for nearly 6 months, and ran it really nicely!! Ended up winning :D taking us to grade 3! Suppose this means a bit more concentration lol.

Jumpings, dizzy handler sent her over the wrong jump to a big E!! And the last run of the day she was shattered after running 5 rings back to back, with NO break!! so got a slow clear! Me and leanne had to literally watch for the jumos bieng dropped to medium as the ring orders where totally wrong.

Second agility was the reverse to the first, and started nice but pulled out of the weaves cause she was watching the judge, and growled all the way down the A-frame at him *rolleyes*.

Pair we got 2 clears, which were nice and steady coming 4th out of the mediums.

I am more happy about having my girly back than actually winning!!!

Middlesbrough and a re-train!!

Middlesbrough went really great, although busy. The weather heard our pleas and stayed cool with a nice breeze so great for the dogs, although chilly for us!

Bailey ran really well, she wasnt as fast as i wanted but then she is still a little un-fit and seems to be going podgy again!! ARRH i dont think il ever get her the weight i want her to be!!

Once i got my changes into stripe right, we were going really well and broke the nights time of 22's to a new 21ish!! Which was great, finishing 2nd!!!

The rest of the teams went great too!!

Our re-train, with help from Katie i am going to work on Baileys stride. She doesnt nicely "bounce" over the jumps taking just one stride. She seems to bounce, then take two strides, which is really costing her both time and energy as i think she could be a speedy little demon!! So i have dad on the job of making 4 basic (and when i saw basic its a bit of old wood) jumps. I am going to set them at 8 feet apart and get her bouncing, then slowly move them apart and she should effectivly have learnt the stride!! (she says).

So i shall keep you updated on that, oww and Waldridge next weekend :D

Well the nice weather has finally arrived, however for the weekend i know im not the only one hoping it will be fine but cool.
We are Flyballing at Middlesbrough on sunday. We have a fair few teams running, so a busy day. Me and Bails are looking forward to it, and im sure she will enjoy this weekend more than the last. The main reason bieng....its Flyball.

She has been resting a big part of this week with shorter, steady walks advised by the chiro last week and *fingers crossed* iv not seen her lame at all!! The last 2 days we have been down the woods so she should be back into things for sunday.

Well another bad weekend. I really dont know what to say.

Sat:
She had agility first of all, usually our strong point, she was working nicely until she went into the weaves on her right and then corrected herself, the rest was slower as she hates been told she is wrong.

The next class was agility again, she went nicely but not very fast and saw a little boy pole picking and went to say hello!! silly girl, then she was really slow through her weaves but we havent done 12 weaves for ages as i only own 6.

Jumping was near chicken pens, started of blasting but lost her out of the ring when she went to find furries!!! It wasnt a suprise to me.

Pairs with Kim, the dogs were working nice but there was a big trap with two tunnels in line, Kim got a refusal and Bailey fell for the trap as i didnt pull her away early enough!

Sunday- went down hill from here.
Jumping she was E'd and very very slow as she has lost her usual self.

Olympia Q, well it was a hard course for B, she like ones that dont take too much brain power and she turns like a jumbo jet, well we got around, cant remeber what we got but it wasnt a clear. Ended up with judges special hahahah i think he felt sorry for me.

Jumping - last class we didnt run as she went to see a chiro, popped her up as i wanted to take her to one for ages, nearly all of her Back was popped out and the lady said she would have been running slow because of this, her legs, neck and tail were fine but because she had so much work done on her back i took her home.

So it was back breaking work trying to get her to actually run for me, and back breaking work for sure for bailey.

This weekend, and a rubbish week

Well its the time of the year when uni, just gets harder and harder! everynight this week iv been coming home at 4 and working until 12 at night. I havent even left the house to see friends. Im also full of cold!! arrh

Today i had the day off work as i really need to do yep.. more work!! Just stripped Bails coat as she never moults her coat until really late in summer which is strange so she now looks neater and less hairy.

This weekend we have shrewsbury, i really dont have a clue how it will go. Me and Leanne with Kim are running in medium pairs which is always a laugh and it really nice to have someone i know with a medium!!

Then we have middlesbourgh and waldridge fell. And i have just said yes to another flyball comp and tabley!!

Flyball was really good, she was running with yet another new team for middlesbourgh. It is a really nice team and im really looking forward to another 'Owler comp the weekend after Shrewsbury.

She was running really nice, although a little messy as her little bud Mollie is in our team so she turns into a double of mollie, by making it a cat and mouse game in catching her!! She is also turning into a little devil with some of the Boys at 'Owlers, some just seem attracted to her and instead of running to the box, run to her!!! hahah bless!!

May:
May is going to be such a busy month, i have a comp every weekend in may, and they alternate agility and flyball, so to keep her on form, she is having more walks in the woods chasing furries to get her running and im looking into taking her to hydro in the middle of may!!

Well i shall post our rubbish agility run from emdac as soon as i can find the video camera!!!

EMDAC, Flyball and a poorly girl

Flyball:

Flyball training was really good and she ran really hard, she trained 3 times and was changing with the mad man which is chip for one run, and then trained with some of her team for the rest, i can really tell she is getting a lot more stamina since moving to 'Owlers.

EMDAC:
It was a really funny day sunday, Bails was fine in the morning had a nice clear apart from time lost on looking at the camera man. Then She had a terrible run in helter Skelter, she got E'd partly to my bad handing but because i tryed to recoverher, she then goes all stupid as if rebelling against me correcting her, so ran off to do a wee!! I was really mad as she had been for a wee like 10 mins ago so def didnt need one!!! arrhh.

Then she got really strange, i was letting her off in the exercise area when as soon as i released her she ran full pelt over more than 2 foorball fields back to the car,i went after her found her at the boot and she was crying to get back in the car!??!?! totally strange. Me and leanne left her a bit and then took her into the practice ring to try and bring her around with a ball and running over the contacts, she did come around a little, so then jumping came and she went clear but she had no umph in her at all and she didnt want to be there which isnt like her at all!!

So not a very successful weekend and today she has been really ill with diarrhoea and sickness, so maybe she wasnt feeling herself, and it showed lol!! Also showed we have not trained properly since like december!!!!

i feel really guilty this week as i havent had a min to stop, i did an 18hour assignment day on monday and worked all through dinner and even missed the only think i watch on TV.

College really do push work on us when its getting to the end of lectures.

This means iv not had a lot of time with my girly, we did have a training session on tuesday night where she was crazy, really bombing and focused but thats all we have done for a long time.

I have an Agility comp sunday and EMDAC, we are only still in intro as iv never really got hooked on them and we have only done a few shows, but its the first agility comp since Lincoln, so i really want to get her into it before the big comps this year.

I think im finally really enjoying her and seeing that she can be one to compete against, instead of just mess about.

Bailey has been slightly crazy this week. Last weekend flyball was cancelled because of blizzards and me and bails were missing it anyway because i got extra work. Then i had a panic attack on sunday which drains you for a few days, so to thursday iv not been out with my girl, and she hasnt been happy on my parents ideas of walks.

Tomorow i wont be flyballing again as im going to london to see hairspray, i still feel really tired but i should have a good day. I just feel guilty for not doing as much with Bailey this winter but a few people have plans and im squeezing in flyball and agiliy comps!! Lets just say im dreading May as it isnt looking like il have a minute to myself.

This is why i have no time for a puppy!!

Where is this year going!!

There was no Flyball last weekend, so we have had a "lazy" week on the training side as our garden is still wet as it just misses the sun directly.
Bailey has been a bit off this week, she has been itching her ears and holding them funny, took her to the vets and said there is no sign of mites so may just be ear ache lols.

She has also finished the slow change over to JW food, she is on the lamb and rice kibble as it seems a fav amoung other owners. She has had no problems eating her first full bowl of it tonight so seems to like it ( but then again it is Bailey and she will eat "anything")

She had a fun walk last night with some of her boys Dylan and Zeberdee. It made me laugh at just how protective Dylan is over his little girl when another dog is around. So sweet! No photos as we think my dads camera is on the blink arrhh! Canon for my birthday me thinks :D

Finally around the corner we have an agility comp. Its the EMDAC April 20th. I cant wait as i have been itching for a competition.

Carlton Towers

Well the comp is over and done with.
The weather was terrible, but mad as we are still made it throught the blizzards to get there. The motorway was down to one lane as the rest was covered in snow and even the clear lane was still slushy.
Racing started late (not a shock there) Didnt do bad to say no-one was really used to running as our team. I only got one light which i was suprised at and seemed to get my change-overs ok.
As the snow melted the ground turned into deep mud. It was like the fields at glastonbury. Our dogs didnt seem bothered as they are used to running on the field at training.

Sadly Baileys worst fear struck, we were walking around the show at the wrong time and was just next to the display arena, when two huge cannons went off sending Bailey into a frenzy, i took her straight back to the flyball where the noise was dubbed by the dogs racing. She was shaking all over with her tail between her legs clearly worried. I really thought id never get her to race the afternoon races as she was in a right state. I kept her out for around an hour as she would just panick in the car. Finally we went in to race and still worried i tryed her with a run back to see how she was, she just snapped straight out and back into crazy Bails, ran her normal self, but as soon as we left the lanes she was back again shaking and worrying, but again it was like she forgot in the ring.

We ended with losing 2 races winning 3 so ended in 3rd which to say we didnt expect a thing was a nice suprise. Lets hope the next comps are cannon and shooting display free.

Well this weekend its Baileys debut as an 'Owler. After a year of wanting to go i finally have done it and i have never looked back. Me and Bailey are love it.

Bailey is running on Sunday in the Eagles team, there is also (weather permitted) clever dogs on so im sure i will run her over that. Its also the game fair so should be nice to have a walk around there.

Lets hope the weather stays fine as there are a lot of competitions on this week both in agility and flyball and i know a lot of people who will be disappointed with bad weather.

The blog seems to have an ongoing theme of Flyball.

Flyball was really good, we ran as a team. I was a little wide on change overs, but i think it will click next week.
Bailey was great, she was really worked up and raring to go. We have the compo next week at Carlton Towers, i am really looking forward to that as it should be a great comp.

It was great to catch up with Katie, we always have lots to chat about and Katie kindly took some photos of my girl which i will post when she sends me them.

She has just had a bath which she clearly needed as the water was black, so she is snuggled in her bed after a long day.

Feel a little horrible this week as iv not been doing too much with Bailey, iv had a week off walking her as iv been really swamped with college work and assignments. Iv still been doing her 10 mins training/constructive play with her and she really enjoys it, its the best thing iv started with her. She also loves her clicker!

Flyball was another great training session again over 6 jumps to get them really working. She was running before kim and did as she can do where she runs straight towards the other dog she changing with (naughty naughty). She only does it with certain dogs!!

Her turn is ok but we may have to work on her turning on the top of the box as she seems to be favouring the bottom?!?! And she cant seem to get her stride, i just hope it comes with time.

Well this weekend it is crufts, im not going :( but i guess its not a bad thing as i tend to buy things just because im there get home and realise the number of leads on the door has double teheh. Mum has had a big op this week so cant do anything for 6 weeks (she is going to drive me insane).

Bailey has been very crazy this week, i think we need to do some agility as she is feeling the withdrawl symptoms and as a result has taken to eating and destroying most of her toy box. I mean dont get me wrong shes still has hour walks daily and some jump work in the garden but i think shes missing her beloved contacts. She better like pink too.

Just sent lots of entries off, im trying to squeeze then in this year. I cant wait until shrewsbury for Bailey/Kim medium team.

College and was doing health checks and sexing on some new arrivals from the RSPCA. The young female rabbit seemed a bit plump and now we have decided yep, she is about to pop. They know i love Buns so spent about 15 mins preswading me to foster her while she has them :$ As fun as it is to have baby bunnies i know she would end up staying forever and its really not fair, so she will have to somewhere else! Honey's kittens put me off from more lop bunnies as they take ages to sell on.

Busy Weekend

Well this week and weekend have been very busy,

Flyball was a little quiet, a few people were at agility and others away. We just ran as a mixed bunch over 6 jumps. Bailey has never run over 6 but i think she did very well and didnt seem to tire much faster than the other dogs. She was bieng a bit of a bugger at running for poor harvey which is something i really want to sort out.

She has also found new love in Harvey as he was infatuated with her lol.
Only 2 weeks to the comp so really looking forward to that as i havent competed since May?!?!

I think poor Honey is really feeling age creeping up with her, she is definatly loosing hearing and seems to go into deep sleeps more often which isnt normal for Bunnys. Im hoping she has a bit more in her as she will be the end of an era until i get my own house :(

And me and Bails send love to the gorgeous Kira who isnt very well! xxxx

Had another nice flyball session. She has got a little trouble getting a proper stride. I am going to have to play around with distances from the start line to help her, leanne also mentioned that she may be needing the lower height but once they have been measured i dont think they can be re-measured.

Im also starting to get used to my changes with the strange dogs even though i think i am a little daring with getting them tight!!!

Sunday we have been on a nice walk in the woods and then did some jump work.

Well yesterday we went on a walk in the local dog fields, we call them that as they were protested against quary work on as they are used so much by dog walkers. Our village is definatly a dog owners village as there are loads of dog owners and always some in the fields.

Bailey is one of them dogs that gets on with most dogs. She plays and flirts with all sizes and shapes.

"ohh its Bailey" - The fields are so big that from one end to the other you can only just see the who is walking in them. Most people automatically put thier dog on the lead when they see someone else. However as they get closer and realise its me and Bailey they let the dog off for a good play about. I hear so many people saying to thier dogs "ohh its Bailey" as they know she plays. It makes me laugh and my mum and dad said that they have also noticed people going "ohh its Bailey" and letting thier dog off.
However once a week i walk my friends Rottie and they never let the dogs have a play when im with him, its sad to think that its just because of Dylans breed they seem to have thier mind already set before they meet him.

Well i have finally officially left springers this weekend. So im looking forward to the rest of 08.

Flyball was really good although she only had one session as i had to dash off. She has met and started to run with her new team. She was doing great, i am so pleased with her as she didnt let me down again and i am really looking forward to seeing her when she back fit.
She is changing really well with strange dogs and has seem to have forgotten her old habit of heading straight for the other dog when changing. She is also coming back to me without wanting every other dogs ball. :D

Well after wanting to go for about a year, i went to Owlers Flyball club on Sat. A few of my friends left springers to move there and i have been tempted for sooo long.

I was sooo proud of Bailey she has had a 5 month break from flyball. We seemed to fit straight in and she was running really well considering. She did tight change-overs with strange dogs, and her box was nothing really to worry about. There was just once when she got confussed at which lane she was running, but all seemed really well

She was a little lame after but i think it is because she has had sush a long break, and she is a little unfit.

I have decided to start a blog for Bails, more for me to look back on but i also love reading other peoples so i thought i would try my own.

Bailey has never been an easy dog to train both in and out of training, she is always pushing my limits and i have to stay consent with her at all times. I have just began to clicker train her which might make it easier for me!!

She started Agility about 4 years ago and was terrible (i wont lie) She just bombed away around the field. Slowly we started enjoying it and then got hooked on comps. She is now a really nice dog to work, she is confident at working away from me and has the natural stride for running contacts. She needs a little bit more work and have some things i want to do this year like her contacts faster and more confidence in the weaves.

Flyball she runs at 12". She just loves the sport, mainly because it takes no brain power.

I just love her to bits and im having a ball running her and having her as my friend at home :D
